Frequently Asked Questions

Who needs acupuncture?

From pregnant women to professional athletes, our list of clients is wide and varied. Many people receive acupuncture to treat disorders while others frequent our clinic for the purpose of general wellness. For more information, please click here for a partial list of Treated Conditions.

How long does a treatment session take?

A typical visit can take anywhere from 30 to 90 minutes depending on the type and severity of your condition. Your first visit will require basic paperwork and an in-depth consultation with one of our specialists. All treatment sessions following the initial visit usually take less time.

How many visits will I need?

The benefits of acupuncture are cumulative. You will receive a series of treatment sessions based on the amount of integrative services included in your personalized treatment plan. Acute conditions may require as many as 1 to 3 treatment sessions (although your body will often respond positively just after the first). Chronic disorders may require a long-term treatment plan depending on the type of condition. Many patients often choose to receive maintenance therapy for general well-being, even after being successfully treated.

Will I feel any pain?

Acupuncture is virtually painless. Our practitioners use hair-thin, flexible, sterile and disposable needles, and our patients report little to no sensation upon contact. Gentle stimulation with the needles often produces a unique sensation that Eastern medicine calls de-qi. Most patients find the experience quite pleasant and deeply satisfying. In fact, it’s not uncommon for patients to fall asleep during a session.

I currently take medication and/or receive other therapies. Is it still okay to seek treatment at your clinic?

We practice integrative medicine. As the name suggests, our clinic specializes in integrating our treatments with those of other health care professionals. During your personal consultation, a detailed treatment plan and schedule will be organized to suit your needs.

Do you accept health insurance?

We accept insurance, but not all policies cover our services. Please contact our office to determine coverage and payment plans.
